On Friday, 25 mourners were killed in Kisumu, Kenya while attempting to return home from a funeral service when the bus that they were traveling on overturned.
The crash occurred while the bus was approaching a roundabout, but ultimately ended up in a ditch. A authorities told Al Jazeera that the vehicle was travelling at high speeds, and “lost control, veered, rolled onto the other side of the road.”
According to AP News, similar auto accidents are commonplace in Kenya due to narrow roadways and poorly maintained roads, though authorities in the country blame most accidents on driver error.
