On September 28, 2025 a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mont Blanc, Michigan was shot up by Thomas Jacob Sanders a 40 year old man who crashed his car into the church and set it on fire. The man was shot and killed by responding police officers. The man killed 4 and injured 8. A prayer service was held in Mont Blanc at a nearby Non-Denominational church. The fire the shooter set destroyed the church, Sanford used gas to start the fire and also had explosive devices.
