Germany is allowing law enforcement to fire at rogue drones as of October 8, 2025. Police can use “appropriate technical means” against drones, electromagnetic jamming, signal interference, physical interception (e.g., nets), or direct shooting, but only if less invasive methods are ineffective or impractical. This applies to threats on landscape, air, or in and above water.

Fed police will do low-altitude (e.g., tree-level) drones, while the military, (Bundeswehr) takes on higher or more powerful threats. Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt emphasized this approach to ensure efficient responses.
