A major fire broke out at the Wang Fuk Court housing complex in Hong Kong on 26 November 2025, affecting seven out of eight building blocks and causing numerous fatalities and injuries. Authorities reported at least 128 people died, around 200 remain missing, and hundreds were injured. The fire spread rapidly due to flammable construction materials, bamboo scaffolding, and polystyrene panels used during renovation work on the exterior of the building. One firefighter also lost his life during the incident.
