Prestia began his criminal career as an associate to former Bonanno family acting boss Anthony Spero[198] In the late early 90s, Prestia than went on record with Genovese capo Rosario Gangi. Prestia allegedly became a made member of the Genovese crime family in the late 1990s. On July 27, 1998, Prestia along with Gangi and other members of organized crime were convicted on a Extortion and Conspiracy to defraud related charges regarding the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In early 2026, an FBI probe was launched in interest of Prestia’s involvement in New Yorks waste, demolition and towing companies.
