BLOCK CITY — A late-night pizza delivery ended in a bizarre confession when a local employee claimed to have witnessed members of the so-called “Block Cult” performing what they described as a “Second Life” ritual — one that allegedly involved sacrificing a fellow cultist.

According to 22-year-old delivery driver Kyle Merrin, the incident took place in a dimly lit basement beneath an abandoned hardware store on East Vine Street. “They were all wearing these block-shaped masks, like perfect cubes,” Merrin said. “One guy was on the floor chanting something about ‘Two Time’ while the others stood in a square around him.”

Merrin claims he saw the group’s leader — identified only by the alias Stonehead — plunge a ceremonial blade into another masked figure before declaring, “You shall have your Second Life.”

The term “Second Life,” cult experts say, is a recurring phrase in online conspiracy forums linked to a niche virtual reality role-play game and a string of urban legends dating back to the late 2010s. The phrase “Two Time” is rumored to refer to a secretive initiation level within the cult, allegedly granting members “a second chance at existence” — though no evidence of such powers exists outside of cult literature.

Authorities have not confirmed Merrin’s account, but police have acknowledged receiving multiple noise complaints from the building in recent weeks. “We’re investigating possible trespassing and unlawful assembly,” said Block City Police spokesperson Dana Keegan. “As of now, we cannot confirm any ritualistic activity.”

Merrin, who insists he will never deliver to East Vine Street again, left the scene immediately after the alleged sacrifice. “I dropped the pizza and ran,” he said. “No tip is worth that.”

Residents are advised to report suspicious activity to authorities and avoid trespassing in abandoned buildings.
