At 11:03 PM UTC (7:03 PM EDT) on Friday, the Crew 10 mission will be launched onboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule to the International Space Station (ISS) on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, as well as JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi and ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, will be onboard and delivered to the ISS. The astronauts are expected to arrive at the ISS on Saturday night at 11:30 PM.
The capsule will undock from the space station on Tuesday. A few days later, cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, and astronauts Nick Hague, Butch Wilmore, and Sunita Williams will splash down on Earth. Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams were originally launched onboard Boeing’s Starliner on June 5 during its first crewed flight. Due to several issues with the Starliner spacecraft, the originally eight day long mission was extended, in order to safely return the astronauts.
The NASA broadcast of the launch began at 7:00 PM UTC (3:00 PM EDT).
A previous launch attempt on Wednesday was cancelled due to a hydraulic system failure 45 minutes before launch.
