Organizers of the French music festival Les Déferlantes announced Thursday that Paloma, the daughter of house music veteran Bob Sinclar, will perform a solo set on the event’s “Beach Stage” this summer. The announcement comes as her father revealed in a recent interview that the young DJ is moving away from joint performances to establish her own professional identity.

Paloma is scheduled to play on July 12 at the festival, which takes place in Le Barcarès from July 11 to 13. She joins a lineup for the electronic-focused third stage that includes Petit Biscuit, Cyril, and Hypaton. The main stages of the festival are set to feature international acts such as Martin Garrix, Sean Paul, and Aya Nakamura.

The booking highlights a shift in the artist’s career path. Speaking to Fun Radio on March 9, Bob Sinclar explained that his daughter has decided to stop mixing alongside him. According to the elder Sinclar, Paloma expressed a desire to “earn” her own audience rather than relying on the crowds gathered by her father’s 30-year career.

“She told me that she hasn’t earned this audience,” Sinclar said during the interview. He noted that while they have upcoming joint appearances, such as at the Touquet Music Beach Festival in August, Paloma is increasingly focusing on solo dates to build her reputation independently.

Bob Sinclar, 56, remains active in the industry himself. He recently released a new track titled “I Can’t Wait” featuring singer Kiesza and is slated to perform at the Fun Radio Ibiza Experience in April.
