A major fire broke out at the Wang Fuk Court housing complex in Hong Kong on 26 November 2025, affecting seven out of eight building blocks and causing numerous fatalities and injuries. Authorities reported at least 128 people died, around 200 remain missing, and hundreds were injured. The fire spread rapidly due to flammable construction materials, bamboo scaffolding, and polystyrene panels used during renovation work on the exterior of the building. One firefighter also lost his life during the incident.

Authorities arrested three individuals, including managers of the construction company and an engineering consultant, and launched an investigation into the case on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter. Thousands of residents were temporarily relocated to shelters, and rescue operations continued intensively. The fire has been recorded as one of the largest fire disasters in Hong Kong in recent years
