On October 7 to 8, 2025, A Russian missile and drone attack happened overnight that targeted Ukraine. Civilian infrastructure and energy facilities were hit across multiple regions. President Zelenskyy stated that, in a single night, Russian forces shot 53 missiles and 496 drones, were launched at Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting most of them but failing to stop all. The Russian attack utilized Shahed and Gerbera drones, along with other types of UAVs, launched from locations such as Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Crimea.
