United Nations officials warned Monday that the conflict in Ukraine has reached its deadliest point since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. The UN Security Council convened amid escalating hostilities across the country.
Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, highlighted that recent months have seen some of the most extensive aerial bombardments of the conflict. She emphasized that the humanitarian toll on civilians, on both sides of the front lines, continues to rise.
