Raul John Aju, widely recognized as the “AI Kid of India,” recently shared his insights on the transformative power of technology and the imperative for its widespread adoption in an interview with UN News. A self-taught prodigy, Aju built his first robot at the age of 12 and has since developed over 10 artificial intelligence tools. He has advised the governments of Kerala and Dubai on integrating AI into public services and is the founder of AI Realm Technologies.
Aju’s remarkable achievements have led to speaking engagements at major tech corporations and invitations to international conferences, such as the 2026 India Artificial Intelligence Summit held in New Delhi. During this summit, he had the opportunity to meet with Amandeep Gill, the UN’s Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Following his keynote address at a UN panel discussion on AI and child safety, Aju sat down with Anshu Sharma of UN News to discuss his entrepreneurial journey, aspirations for the future, and how young people can engage with artificial intelligence.
How did your interest in technology begin?
My initial exposure to technology was through video editing software. When my father started working at Adobe, I gained free access to all their premium tools, which opened the door for me to learn about artificial intelligence. That led to the creation of my robot.
What inspired you to establish your own company?
The primary motivation was to consolidate all the tools I had developed under a single brand. Additionally, I aimed to create a payment system that simplifies transactions for people, allowing those without credit or debit cards to pay using QR codes.
Can you elaborate on your innovations in the AI field?
One of our key developments is the Rescue AI tool. This application identifies the necessary actions and applicable laws in emergency situations. It connects users with a lawyer and assists them by analyzing thousands of similar cases to help formulate a winning legal strategy. Another project is ThinkCraft Academy, an educational platform where individuals can progress from learning AI basics to developing their own practical tools. Our courses are offered free of charge and have benefited over seven million people.
Your decision to hire your father garnered significant attention. What was the reasoning behind that?
While I can gather information over the phone, I lack his specific expertise. He has experience working with companies like Amazon, Adobe, Wipro, and IBM, providing me with valuable learning opportunities. Frankly, it also served as a beneficial marketing move!
What was your experience like training numerous students?
I encourage them to start using artificial intelligence but also emphasize the importance of retaining their humanity. I consistently stress that the most crucial skill in the AI landscape is to remain as humane as possible.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
I aspire to achieve financial independence, enabling me to provide for my parents and myself. Simultaneously, I hope my tools will continue to enhance people’s daily lives. I also wish to spend time in the West to further my learning.
How would you summarize your journey so far?
I would offer two pieces of advice. Firstly, remain humble, or the world will humble you. Secondly, pursue your passion over money, as financial success often follows dedication to what you love.
