Bukhara, the renowned Indian restaurant located at ITC Maurya in Delhi, has been bestowed with the prestigious ‘India’s Legendary Restaurant’ award at the NDTV Food Awards 2026. Established in 1978, the establishment has cemented its status as a globally recognized culinary destination over nearly five decades.

At the award ceremony, jury head Vir Sanghvi declared Bukhara an “undisputed choice.” Sanghvi specifically highlighted the restaurant’s iconic Dal Bukhara dish, which has served as a global inspiration. For approximately half a century, Bukhara has remained faithful to its original vision, consistently serving beloved specialties such as Dal Bukhara, Sikandari Raan, and Naan Bukhara.

Accepting the award, Anil Chadha, General Manager of ITC Hotels, attributed Bukhara’s enduring success to its unwavering commitment to consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction. Chadha noted that the restaurant has hosted numerous world leaders, heads of state, and international dignitaries throughout its history. He emphasized that Bukhara continues to attract significant patronage, making reservations a challenge.
Having surpassed 48 years in operation, Bukhara remains one of India’s most cherished dining establishments, celebrating a legacy that extends beyond mere cuisine.
